Thomas and his second wife was Chloe (maiden surname unknown) relocated from Pittsylvania County, VA. They had a right good size family. Thomas owned quite a lot of good farming land, between 90 and 100 slaves, a ferry across the Yadkin, stock in the bank of North Carolina, a tannery, a general store, the Mansion Hotel on the court house square in Salisbury where the stages stopped and he was involved in interstate commerce with a son. His plantation was known as Oak Hill and the mansion house stood on a bluff overlooking the river. Thomas died in 1829 and was buried at Timber Ridge which is now Bethlehem Methodist Church.
I descend from Sarah called Sally whose first husband was John G. Hoskins and their daughter who was Laura Ann was born May 28, 1822.
In the event anyone is interested I am willing to share information.
