I am researching a Massey line also. I have a copy of a deed (made at the Office of Deeds, Mocksville, NC) where a J. Bryant Howard and his wife, Mary, sold land to Thomas G. Massey in March of 1870. Thomas G. Massey's wife was Minerva L. Howard, although she was not listed on this deed.

I was wondering if you had any further info on the John Bryant (Briant) Howard and Mary "Polly" Massey you have listed in your post.

I am thinking that these two are either related to Thomas G. Massey (maybe he was Mary "Polly" Massey's brother) or to Minerva L. Howard (maybe she was the sister of J. Bryant/Briant Howard). I do not have birth or death info for either Thomas G. or Minerva but do know that they were married in 1862.

I have many holes in the Massey line I am researching and would appreciate any info. Don't know if this will fit in to what you have - please let me know.
Thanks!
