Elberson Family

I am currently doing research on the Elberson family of Davidson County, N.C. My research isn't going very far, so this is how far I have it traced thus far:

My first believed ancestor was a Rosanna Elverson b. ca 1795; I first find record of her living in Davidson County, N.C. during the 1860 census living with Larry and Mary Young. Rosanna was 55 years old and birth year given as ca. 1795.

My gggg grandfather was George Elbertson b. ca 1835; I find a Civil War Record for a George Elberson who enlisted in the 6th Regiment. He enlisted in May 1864 at Lexington, Davidson County, N.C. He was 5 ft 11 in tall, red haired and light skinned. He also had blue eyes. I also find George living in Davidson County, N.C. during the 1850, 1870 and 1880 census....Have yet to find him in the 1860 census. I have reason to believe that George was married to someone named Eunice, as her name is Nicy, Niecey, Niece on the census records and given on their daughter's death record as Eunice.

I have George's descendants down to the present, but am looking mainly for his ancestry, where was he born and who was his parents? Can I connect him to the Rosanna Elverson b. ca 1795?
