Mary Beard, Davidson, (1828-1899) & Peter Long (1826-1851)

Peter Long, father of Ruben Long (1850-1925) lived in Davidson County and was born in 1826, died in 1851. I believe he was married to Mary Beard according to Roots Web. They appear on the 1850 census but Ruben was not listed as the census was completed prior to his birth.

I am trying to connect him to his mother Mary on the 1860 census. But, I believe Mary remarried so the reference would be under a different surname.

Is anyone on this site familiar with Mary Beard (1827/8 to ?), Peter Long, or Mary's 2nd husband? I think Peter Long was the son of Jonathan Long.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
