1870 Census Silver Hill, Davidson County, NC
Posted by: s gragg (ID *****5862) Date: August 13, 2009 at 12:31:10

I am looking for a family who was apparently missed or left out during the 1870 census for Silver Hill, Davidson County, NC. The particular family I am looking for is Jesse and Ruth Gallimore. It is known that they lived most of their lives (and certainly the last part of Jesse's life) in the Silver Hill area.

Jesse Gallimore was a school teacher in Silver Hill. He was b. in 1810 (place unknown), the son of Margaret Emerson and Elisha (I believe) Gallimore. He married Ruth Wright, daughter of Richard Wright, Jr., and Cary Kittrell, of Rowan/Davidson County, NC.

If they are missing from the census, perhaps other families as well. Any information on this will be appreciated. thanks.
