I am not directly related to your Loftins, as far as I know, but I have been searching a lot of people in the same area of Davison Co, and have been helping out a nice man who is searching for what sounds like your Loftins. In fact, when I saw your post, I at first thought you were looking at the same pair of Cornelius Loftins. But there is yet another Cornelius in the generation previous to your two. And I would put money on the fact that your "Cornelius the Elder" had at least brothers Solomon and Gray, and perhaps others we have not yet sorted out. The 'nice gent' is descended from this Solomon. And I should be able to get the two of you in touch.

And I would bet that your "Cornelius the Elder"'s dad, Cornelius, had at least a brother John. That's all I can remember without checking all the old posts in depth.....

I have been sending census info on the Davidson Co Loftins, over time, to this nice gent. I would be glad to forward this info, with some of the comments and other bits, to you as well, if you want them. Drop a note here, or to
leoandlinda@provide.net

Did any of your Loftins also end up in southern MO later? (Webster Co and surrounding counties) That's how this gentleman and I started writing..... Matching 'neighbor' names in two closely knit but geographically separate areas.... Looked like there was something to look at <grin>.

Let me know....

Linda Schreiber
