Julius and Sallie Russell Loftin were my grand uncle and aunt. Sallie was the daughter of Whitson and Diza Lassiter Russell of Randolph County, NC. They were married after the Civil War and left Randolph and moved first to Kansas, then to Missouri. They were in Lamar County, TX, later and are buried there. I have visited their graves and have a picture. Julius was a Sargeant in the war and was wounded a number of times and returned each time. I have a copy of his records as listed in NC Troops. Their great grand daughter still lives in Paris, TX. I have her address if you would like to contact her.
