In Reply to: Joseph Green (b 1743) his father James (b 1716) by Laurie Newby of 942

I have information that James Green was the son of Farneffold (Furnifold) and Hannah Green and that he was born around 1706. He was appointed Justice of the Peace for Craven County, NC, in 1754. He was clerk of the Colonial Assembly from 1771 to 1776. His son, Joseph, was born 23 Jan 1744 and died 26 Sept 1803, at his home, “Greenfield,” opposite White Hall in Wayne County, NC. Joseph married Sarah Whitfield (b. 16 April 1749; d. 22 January 1780) on 19 May 1768. If you believe these are the same people on whom you seek information, I'll be glad to share what I have with you. I have more information on Joseph Green.

I have that James married Mary Gray and do not know if this is in error. Please contact me if you wish. Caro Green Harvey Feagin.
