Thnx Ernie- As far as I know there is no kin connectiuon between the two Phillips families. Thomas and Isabella came from Prince George Co., Va and John and Hannah were in Surry County. John was son of William and Sarah Swann Phillips. I had seen a notation that Richard Forts will was witnessed by John Phillips which would tend to indicate that he and Hannah were living in N.C. whereas I had been led to believe that they stayed in Surry Co., BA. You can read more on the Thomas and Isabella family at: http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~paday/dobbers/phillips.htm
I am a volunteer with the Phillips Worldwide DNA project and we would sure like to get a Phillips male descendant of each of those families into the testing program. I recently finished my DNA testing and was a 36 out of 37 markers with a Phillips whose oldest known descendant died in 1762 in Charles City Co.,VA not far from the Prince George Co. Phillips above. There is a possibility that a John and Anne Phillips in Bristol Parish VA. (part of both Charles City and Prince George Co. were in Bristol Parish)might be the parents of my Joseph Phillips who died In Brunswick Co., Va in 1777. You can get info on the Phillips DNA project at: http://www.familytreedna.com/(hcozsp45cggx0dupdvojavau)/public/PhillipsWorldwide/index.aspx
