Gail, I am a descendant of William Fulsher, son of Thomas Fulsher of Craven County. I was very interested in your reply to John Patterson re Frances Brinson, who you said was the daughter Simon Speight Brinson and Laney Green, and that Simon Brinson's parents were Benjamin Brinson and Susannah Speight, dau. of William Speight. Further you said that Benjamin's parents were Cason Brinson, Jr., and Ann Fulsher, and that Ann Fulsher's mother was Isabell Brinson, sister of Cason Brinson, Sr. but you did not name her father. Can you tell me who Ann Fulsher's father was? Neither Thomas Fulsher nor his son William mentioned a daughter named Ann in their wills. Thomas's son Joseph Fulsher d. ca. 1758 and his est. was sold by James Brinson (son of Cason, Sr.) and Cason Brinson, Jr., purchased most of the est. Was Joseph Fulsher mar. to Isabel Brinson and the father of Ann Fulsher or was it one of Thomas Fulsher's other sons who died intestate? Sarah Fulsher, widow of Thomas Fulsher. who d. in 1744, made a deed of gift of all her negroes to her children on 9 May 1758. Unfortunately she did not name her children but did name her daughter Mary Fisher (who was Thomas's Fulsher's step-daughter) in a deed of gift to Mary of all of Sarah's rights to a plantation on the No. side of the Neuse River. This was dated 19 May 1758.
Also, the will of William Speight dated 23 July 1797, mentioned his daughter Susannah Brinson but named as his son-in-law Joseph Brinson (who was Benjamin's brother). Did Susannah marry both Joseph and Benjamin Brinson?
I have Laney Green as the widow of William Green who made his will 13 Dec 1823, and the dau. of James Green who made his will 9 July 1824. Laney Green and William Green were mar. M.B. 15 June 1818. Bond was William S. Sparrow. The Executor of William Green's will was John Shine, who had mar. William S. Sparrow's sister.
Please let me know if your records do not agree with mine as wish to correct any errors. Thanks.
