My ggreat Grandmother was Emeline Mittie Spivey Butler. She was married to Hugh Bert Butler. I know that she lived in Columbus Co. as a child and was married also in Columbus County. I have found her family in one census; her father's name in that census was Alexandr F. Spivey and her mother's name was Viny. I have found in the marriage index that Frank Spivey married Viny White June 3, 1867. I believe this to be my grandmother's parents. I also found that Stephen White had a daughter named Viny in the 1860 census and they lived next to Caleb Spivey. I do not believe that Caleb was Alexander Franklin's father because of Caleb's age; he was not old enough to be his father. If you have information on either the white or spivey families, I would appreciate any help. Emeline Mittie Spivey Butler died and was buried in Bladen County. Her grave is located in Briar Branch Baptist Church cemetery.
