Starting Sept. 30, 2014, Genealogy.com will be making a big change. GenForum
message boards, Family Tree Maker homepages, and the most popular articles
will be preserved in a read-only format, while several other features will
no longer be available, including member subscriptions and the Shop.
The slave schedule is like the 1850 one that I posted. It shows the owner's name, then the age, sex & race of the slave, but no name. Unfortunately, in the 1860 schedule, Columbus county makes no indication as to where the info was obtained. For City, Township, etc., it simply says "Not Stated". No, sorry, I do not know of another source. That's not to say there isn't one, just that I do not know. Also, yes, statewide birth & death registration began in 1913 for this state.
