Gen. George Stoneman's Raid in Cleveland County

I am searching for any information pertaining to Union General George Stoneman's calvary expedition through Cleveland County, NC during his infamous raid in the final days of the Civil War. John G. Barrett's excellent monograph, The Civil War in North Carolina, presents a map showing Stoneman and his troopers passing through the county; however, accounts of their activities in the county seems quite obsecure. Given that probably nothing of significance occured here, I am still quite interested in locating any oral histories, remembrances, records, documents, books, articles, diaries or any similarly related items regarding Cleveland County's experience during this event.

Thanks!

Travis
