Henry M Goodman born 4-1-1857 Cleveland N.C.died 2-9-1924 Polk Co.(Tx?)Thought to have been of Am.Indian decent(Cherokee ?)Son named Sam(first marriage ?),siblings Jim,Will,Maggie.
Father believed to have died in Civil War.
A Henry Goodman(age23)is found on 1880 N.C.census as farm laborer for James Dearman.
Henry was a woodworker building furniture and musical instruments from wood.A self taught musician that was thought to have played for local parties and dances.
Henry married Alice Virginia Carl(?Spelling)in Macon Tn.on 1-11-1885.Her father believed to have been a local Doctor.Her mother died when she was a child.She had a brother named Will.
Henry and Alice had 10 children..most born in N.C.,one in Mississippi and two in Smith Co.Tx.They were also thought to have travled to and through Oklahoma indian lands with a Dr. and Mrs.Keener.
Henry and Alice finally settled and bought land in Bullard,Tx(Smith Co.)about 1903.She died there on 10-24-1954.
Would appreciate any information on any one of my family members mentioned.
