i have three greatgrandfathers buried nearby:
joseph l. gibson,pvt,39th n.c. inf.,co. e,buried
mt. liberty babtist cemetery, murphy,n.c.{csa}
alfred b. panther, pvt.,39th n.c. inf. co. c,
buried mt. liberty babtist, murphy,n.c.{csa}
james voyles, pvt.,3rd tenn. mtd. inf.,co. g{union}
buried grape creek babtist cemetery, murpht,n.c.
the fourth g-grandfather,william l. stiles,pvt.
39th n.c. inf, co. c, died in the union p.o.w.prison
in knoxville,tenn. and is believed to be buried there.
i have other relatives from that war buried nearby.
