The following was found in Orange Peelings, Orange County Genealogical Society Newsletter, Paoli, Indiana (Jan/Feb/Mar. 2005, Vol. XXIII, ISS: #1, page 9)
William C. Gillum was born in Chatham Co. North Carolina Dec. 6, 1819 and died Jan. 14, 1892. He came to Indiana, Orange County 1826 with his parents John and Susan Gillum. He was united in marriage with Anna B. Briner at the age of 19 yrs. They had 9 children together and with the mother survive him. He was a birthright member of the Friends Church and was a minister for 42 years.
