John E. Crawford July 1848 - Feb. 1922

In the latest "Carolina Cousins," published by the Catawba County Historical Association, there is an obituary on pages 8 and 9 for John E. Crawford. It says that he was a veteran of War Between the States. However, I can't find him in Ancestry.com's Civil War data. Does anyone have any information on him?

Also, do you know which line of Crawfords he descended from? I know his parents were Thomas J. Crawford and Elizabeth Sherrill Crawford and he and his parents are buried at Olivet Baptist. Thanks to you all for any information.
