I have a suggestions for you. Try to find a book by John Brayton titled "The Complete Ancestry of Tennessee Williams." Find the chapter on the Evans family. They had relatives who moved to Caswell County, North Carolina. There were a ton of Evans's living along the Virginia line in the area. I believe that an Ellis Evans is mentioned as living in Caswell County. My relatives moved from Lunenburg County, Virginia to Madison County, Kentucky around 1800. I just started looking at Caswell County and found similar names to my relatives.
