The Scott and Graves Familys

Hello, I would like to know the connection between the John Scott Family and the Graves Family. We have a John Scott from Westmorland Co. Va,1600's. Then they went to Brunswick, Lunenburg Co. Va., and then bought up a bunch of lane in Halifax Co. Va., and straddling the state line and into Person Co. Virginia. Our John Scott, Jr., died in Caswell Co. Virginia. His will was dated June 16, 1781. His wife must have died earlier, as she wasn't mentioned in his will. I have noticed some of the Scott Children have the middle name of Graves. Another clue I noticed, was one of our John Scott's had a ship named "Bachelor". I wondered where he got that name. When I was reading some of the Graves History, I noticed a man named Bartlett Graves, with nick name of "Bachelor." Ummmm??? May not be anything, but I know somehow the Graves and Scotts are related. John Scott, Jr., and (Brother, or Cousin???) Robert Scott were both Attorneys in Brunswick, Lunenburg Co. Va. We have much History. Thank you, Vivien.
