Bigelow, John - Early 1800's, Yanceyville Area

I'm trying to locate information on John Bigelow who came from England and located in Yanceyville, Caswell County in the early 1800's. He was a land owner and had a son named Albert with a Cherokee slave named Betsy. Albert had 12 children and I am the grandchild of one of those children. All 12 children left the area and moved east and west. I've checked the deeds, wills and other public records and came up empty. We know Albert was a school teacher at the time and Albert's children went to Poplar Grove School. Any help would be apreciated.
