Did you say you were in Alaska??? Boy!.and I thought it was cold here in Ft. Worth, Texas!
I did go over some of my notes today of the Caswell area of North Carolina. Interestingly I did find a Joshua Jones in the Wolf Island Creek area of the Caswell district listed in the 1784 Tax List...Since you mentioned some of the other names, I looked some of them up also. There was a John Ingram with 906 acres living right next to Joshua Jones...O acres. [the Ingrams must have hd ll the land?] There was a James Ingram with 200 acres listed on Hogan's Creek nearby. Abaham Womack with 382 acres was in the area.
Caswell County was divided up into 8 districts in 1777-1792, as follows;
1. Caswell dist.
2. Richmond dist.
3. St. Lawrence dist.
4. Nash Dist.
5. St. David's dist.
6. Glouchester dist.
7. St. Lukes dist.
8. St. James dist.
I don't have notes on most of the districts...so your people may be nearby in one of them. I mainly have Caswell dist. of Caswell County and the Richmond dist of Caswell County.
Now in the Richmond dist of Caswell County I did find a Benjamin Ingram listed with 640 acres living on Rattlesnake Creek, and a Charlton Ingram...O acres [maybe he was sharing land with Benjamin?]
This is all I have found so far.....hope it helps.
I still need to go into TN and check out the records there. I will try and keep an eye open for your people. Somewhere in all my files I have a list of most of the Caswell settlers who migrated together to Kentucky. I am curious to see if any of your people are on that list.
