Caswell Births, Marriages & Deaths

I have recently begun to search for ancestors on my mother's side of the family and, if the SMITH name weren't hard enough to research, I also understand that birth and death records in the Caswell County Courthouse only go back to the early 1910s. And marriage license records only go back to about 1865. Is there another source for Caswell County family history? I have some information that has come from a family Bible, and some tombstone inscriptions, but the oldest of that information is from around 1800.

Any ideas as to where to get any earlier information?
