Most of the data in the books that I own covers time periods prior to 1860. I don't find any marriage for Rebecca or Alexander Graham, nor a Will for Lilly Bains in these books. There is one reference to a Thornton Baines, very early 1800's.
I see Lilly "Baynes" in the 1860 census for Caswell Co., NC, at age 80, widow.
In the 1850 census, I find Alexander Graham, age 10, living with Archibald and Barbary "Baynes" in Caswell County, NC; all of them noted as being born in Caswell Co.
I find an Alexander R. Graham who served on the Confederate side in the Civil War as a Private in the 4th NC Cavalry.
He's also in the 1860 census for Hightower Twp., Caswell Co., NC, age 32, noted as "M"arried, but no wife listed, living with Rebecca Graham, age 60, widow (his mother?).
Hope it helps.
