Hi Mona. Perhaps you'll be the one to break through a brick wall in my research. I have a William Smith, one of 4 in Caswell county in the early 1840's who has a wife that has defied being identified. William and his family begin planning a move to Missouri in 1840 or 1841. One of the other William Smiths also leaves for Missouri, I believe a little earlier. As best as I have been able to tell my bunch leaves Caswell County late in 1841, for Bulls Gap Tenn, where most of the family will stay till the fall of 1842. They are probably staying with relatives. Mrs Smith will die there, while William is in Missouri buying a new farm. They were almost certainly landowners in Caswell County, or they had a relative die, and leave them some money, allowing them to move. Would you please check land sales for 1841, and wills probated in 1841, to see if you can pick up their trail. What is needed is William Smith's wife name. We don't even know what her first name was. Thank you. email@example.com
