Miscellaneous records:
Will books -
William LEA, executor of estate of Vines Matthews, file account of inventory and land sold in Brunswick Co., VA, July 1814. (there is more on this estate, and the name is also spelled Vines Mathis.)

James LEA, administrator of Robert Long Junr., decd, settlement of estate; to Sally Hodge due in div of negroes of estate; to Mary Riggs, David Harris, Nancy Harris, for same; to Elizabeth LONG for hire of negroes while she was guardian for decd; 21 Jan 1814.

William LEA, Esq., in acct with estate of Laban Stafford, decd, 1816.

July court 1816:
p. 228. Inventory of estate of Elizabeth LONG, decd, widow of Robert LONG, decd by Daniel Hightower, exec; 30 Jan 1816.
(not sure if this is the parents of Leah Long).

Will Book H, 1817, p. Daniel Darby, Exec estate of John Dobbin, account with estate. Deduct Christopher Hinton's bond, insolvent. Judgments on William Gordon Junr., Abram Villines, Thomas Riggs; accts paid of John LEA, James LEA, George LEA et al.

Book H, wills, 1819-1820, p. 285. James LEA, Will, w. 22 Feb 1819. Wife Nancy LEA to have all estate 10 years, excedpt she marries, to be divided among all living children; estate to be divided after 10 years and those children under age may choose guardian and draw lots. Exec: son, Franklin LEA, and wife Nancy. Wit - Daniel Malone. Proved on oaths of Richard H. Hayes and James McMullin.

More deeds:
A504. William LEA of CC to Herndon Harralson to sign, seal and exhibit unto Anderson Ashburn deed to tract of land in CC on waters of Hyco, adj George Huston, Timothy Burgess, Thomas Kilgore, William Sargent, Thomas Langley, James Johnston, and John Cooper; 7 Oct 1780.

CC245. Tinsley LEA of Maury Co., Tenn, to brother Alfred M. LEA of CC to receive from last will of his decd father James LEA of CC; 12 Oct 1835.

The name LEA was obviously well known in this county, and they appeared to be men of some importance. One was a county ranger, tasks with rounding up strays; others were witnesses and administrators of the estates of friends, neighbors, and I assume family members. Unfortunately, there are just too many pages for me to send everything with the surname LEA.

Here are the sources, in case you can find them in a local library somewhere:

Caswell County, North Carolina, Marriage Bonds, 1778-1868, compiled by Katharine Kerr Kendall; Caswell County North Carolina Deed Books, 1817-1840, abstracts by Katharine Kerr Kendall; Caswell County North Carolina Will Books 1777-1814, including guardian accounts; and Will Books 1814-1843, two volumes in one.

I hope this helps you.
