Dear Folks:

I would like to update you on the various Caswell County online
research and reference sites made available by the Caswell County
Historical Association and the Caswell County North Carolina GenWeb.

1. The principal site for historical research is the Caswell County
Historical Association (CCHA) website at:

2. The principal site for genealogical research is the Caswell County
North Carolina GenWeb (CCGW) at:

Of course history and genealogy overlap so both sites should be
consulted when conducting research.

3. The CCHA/CCGW Message Board at:

This message board and mailing list is exactly one year old today,
boasts 141 subscribers, and has had 509 messages posted in twelve
months. It is a very active group, and anyone interested in Caswell
County should subscribe.

4. The CCHA Weblog at:

This site serves as an adjunct to the other three sites listed above,
has received 118 postings during its fairly short life, and is a great
place for mini-articles not quite ready for full website treatment. A
entire day can be spent browsing through the items posted there.

5. The Caswell County Family Tree at:

This is an ambitious effort to document every person who lived in
Caswell County (and their ancestors). It contains 18,837 entries, with
more added each day.

6. The Caswell County Photograph Collection at:

This recently launched site is an effort to provide a visual history
of Caswell County. Already, 2,712 images are available online for viewing.

7. The CCHA has partnered with Cemetery Census to bring you the Census
of Caswell County Cemeteries at:

The goal is to provide a census of every cemetery in Caswell County
accompanied by images of every gravestone in every cemetery. This
project has just begun but has vast potential as an historical and
genealogical research tool.

I hope you find these tools useful in your research.

Best regards.
