Delamer Jr. is my great grandfather. His brother Bryant Wesley Wells 3 Dec 1870 - 19 Nov 1945 (who is said to have been a preacher) married his first wife Candace Salter 3 Jan 1874 - 27 Oct 1908, in Carteret County on 11 Sep 1892. Gladys Mae Wells and Neta Pearl Wells are two of their daughters. Delamer Jr. and Lavinia Suggs had two children, Nellie Jane Wells 21 Nov 1897 - , and Basil Burwood Wells 20 Jan 1902 - . Lavinia had Robert Walker Wells (my grandfather) 1 Jul 1908 with R A Ormand, in an extramarital affair. Delamer Jr. adopted him. Most of these names have several spelling variations from one government record to the next.
