We dont have Melungeon lines in our family.

Poe was a genealogist in our area. He did a lot of his genealogy by memory with no proof attached. he is the one who stated our Celia was Cherokee ( no proof). That our Jordan's mother Mary was the daughter of William. Not sure if this is true. All this has been repeated over and over because of Poe.

It is kind of icky to think Mary had a child with her uncle but we may never know for sure. if Jordan's DNA did not match the surname of Piercy it would actually make me feel better!

Yes it is interesting that many are not who they say they are this is why it would be a good idea to know who Jordan's father line may have been. No way to do DNA on Jordan's mother to know who she was. Because a few of my men are not matching surname I do wonder who their mother's and wives may have been.
