Based on info I have on my Piercy/Pearcy, etc. site at I have William Washington Buck Piercy/Pearcy's birth as being May 7, 1828 in what was then Burke County, NC. My info was taken from online census records 1830, 40, 50, and 80. I cannot find any of the Piercy family in the 1870 census.
Based on a photo of a tombstone marker for him, he died June 12, 1899. I have asked the owner of the photo for the location of the marker. For some reason I believe it is located in Caldwell County which was formed in 1841 from Burke and Wilkes. He may never have moved.
I also searched Footnote for possible Civil War records for Buck Piercy but have found nothing on him.
I'll send on more info as it becomes available.
