Thanks for replying to my post. I have seen the book you referred to about the Clark family. As a matter of fact, that is where I got the information about the "Atico" cemetery. I did not realize the book covered the Taylor surname, and will be sure to look that up the next time I'm at the library in Morganton or Lenoir.
The same night I posted my message I also found the Collettsville Historical Society's website. I used the contact information and a Mr. Beane got back to me the next morning. He has given me directions to the cemetery where Joel and Elizabeth Clarke are buried. I'm hoping to get up there this Saturday and do some searching to see if I can find the cemetery.
I also tried the other website you suggested. I was able to find Joel Clark in their database, but was unable to find copies of his death certificate. I also tried Elizabeth Taylor, and again even though I found her in the database, I found no way to access death certificates. I can't tell if I'm overlooking something obvious, or if I misunderstood what you meant in your reply.
I will def. try to get to the Lenoir library soon to see if I can find the death notice for Elizabeth. Thanks for that suggestion as well!
