I have learned that when my Great Grandparents Noah and Harriet Teague Bowman Lived in the Lovelady Township
there was a typhoid epidemic before 1905 and possibly before 1900.
Aunt Bessie Bowman survived but bores scars from the high fever. It is believed that Catherine Bowman and Leathy Bowman died of typhoid and are buried in Lovelady Township.
AL Crouse lists Catherein and Leathy as Dead in his 1905 book on the Bowman Family.
Besse Bowman Houston told her children she almost died and some ofher siblings did die of Typhoid and she told them the large scars on her tongue were from the fever.
Is anyone aware of a epedemic of typhoid in thsi section of Caldwell prior to 1905??
What Churches are in teh Lovelady township ?
