Mary A. Bost of Cabarrus Co. North Carolina 1880
Posted by: DOROTHY WEATHERBY (ID *****8597) Date: May 21, 2011 at 15:26:23
  of 981

On 1880 Cabarrus Co. census, MARY A. BOST, age 21, single, teacher, is listed as STEP-DAUGHTER with my gg grandfather, Henry C. DeJarnett. (Actually, his name was Christopher Henry DeJarnette/DeJournett, but on this census, it is Henry C.). His wife listed as Margaret (Alice Margaret McClellan, daughter of Elias McClellan)and son, George E. B. DeJarnett.
C.H.'s first wife was Matissa L. McEachern, who died in 1862, buried at Bethel Methodist Cemetery. C.H. and Alice Margaret died in Pontotoc Co. MS.

I would appreciate any help in solving this puzzle. There was an ASA BOST, wife MARY C. on Cabarrus Co. census in 1860, with son John, 3, and daughter, Mary A. 6/12 year. This fits age for Mary A. for 1880. How are they related? Did Alice Margaret marry a Bost before marriage to C.H. DeJarnette? What happened to Mary A. after 1880? Thanks for your help.
