Was reading through the estate papers for Mathias and then son Israel J. Furr. The Israel Furr estate holds numerous old deeds and land records going back to pre-Stanly County. The widow's allotment for Mathias accounts and allows for 1/3 portions of three tracts. One of the tracts was identified as the "where Sion Page now lives." I think most of this land was north of Stanfield near the Flat Rock Lutheran. There is one tract identified as the "Gum Pond Tract." Would love to know where this tract is as in a separate supreme court case,a line off of it's location failed in an effort to identify a major corner in Arthur Dobb's great tract.
