James Means, Sheriff, Cabarrus Co., d. 1826

Looking for information on the family of James Means who is listed in an abstract from the Catawba Journal as being Sheriff of Cabarrus County, NC, died May 1826. I think he may be the father of my Anne Means b. around 1800 who married Solomon Earnhardt. Anne is listed on her daughter's death certificate as being born in Cabarrus County, NC.

Any information would be helpful as this is a new line to me. Thanks,
Karen Dutton
