FYI: (Collateral lines) in the 1790s, Bond(s) family info/Cabarrus Co, NC:, from memory: Our line of Bonds, who were on the Cabarrus/Rowan Co line area, shows a link to the Jamison family, via the Cochran line. I don't have the data at hand, so more later. We have a John Nic'las, b 1795 and older sister, b. 1793, both adopted.
The Cochrans and Rosses also married, as well as the Killoughs, all Scotch Irish, so they were in the Poplar Tent and Rocky River, (Presbyterian Churches began in 1750s), areas. There is at least one public book on Killough line in general and one on Young Killough of SC...so collateral lines may help.
Also, you may want to check the Mecklinberg Co, NC (source of Cabarrus, 1792), an excellent lib. as well as Rowan Lib, the best. The book: "Carolina Cradle" does mention the Jamisons briefly.
Any other info on the Samuel Jamison Bond, m Elizabeth Brown, (living in other areas or parents)?
Or John Simianer Bond? In 1790 there was an Elisha Bond(s) in Mecklinberg and another, perhaps in S.C. James was a relation, per a legal document and both were in REv. War as Privates. Crane River area and Pee Dee/Yadkin River had a branch named Bonds Creek and William owned land.
The Potts family from MD area were also friends. More later. Any new Q. or A. since Feb of last year.
I saw no other replys on your message so I pass this memory on to help. Oh yes, one of the early Census INDICES mis-states Cabarrus records as another county, I can't remember which, if 1800, but confirm with the microfilm...Thaks for your message.
