Terry, There is a Staring,Starn,Starnes family book. Of Them That Left A Name Behind by Herman and Gearld Starnes. I don't know where you live, but there is one in the Cannon Library in Concord, Cabarrus County, N. C. There is one in the Charlotte, NC library. There is one in the Gastonia, N C library. All the books have been sold. I know there is some Andrew Starnes listed in the book, but they were born in the US. Our Staring, Starnes came from the Palinate, Germany in 1710 by way of London, England in 1709. The original name was Staring. It was changed when Johan Adam Staring was naturalized 1.31.1716 as a citizen of the US. His father was Johan Nicholas Staring that came to New York in 1710. Nicholas had four sons Johan Adam, Johan Nicholas, Johan Valden (Valentine)and Johan Peter. This is a start for you.
