There is mention of gold and silver mine rights on Kiser land deeds twenty years before the claimed Reed Gold mine. Though there is yet proof that gold was actually found earlier than at Reed's, I really believe it was. As the land was being turned over for farming, Kiser and others were likley finding some gold long before Reed's mine was founded.
