I am looking for as much information as possible about my great grandfather, Robert Wilson Cope, from Cabarrus County, NC. He enlisted in the Army Infantry of the Confederate States of America, at the age of 21 years, with the rank of Private. He was wounded in battle against Union forces, being shot in his leg with a miniball, which he carried for the rest of his life. His son, Robert Wilson Cope, my grandfather, b. 1885 in Charlotte, NC, and d. 1967 in Bossier City, LA was a 40-year employee with the Cotton Belt Railroad. His eldest son, Jack Wilson Cope, b. 1911 Bossier City, LA, and d. 1973, was a 37-year employee with the Kansas City Southern Railroad. I currently work for The Times River Cities Gannette Publishing Company. Any information that can be provided would greatly be appreciated.
