Does this tie into any other Wilson researchers line? In 1840 there is a David Wilson listed in Burke, West of the North Fork. I'm guessing in 1850 it became part of McDowell County. 1850 census, McDowell, NC: David G. Wilson 40 b. Abt. 1810 Nancey Wilson 28 Jasper A. Wilson 5 Mary Wilson 4 John 1 1860 census, Marion, McDowell, NC: David J. Wilson 50 b. Abt. 1809 NC Jasper Wilson 16 B.Abt. 1843 NC Mary Wilson 14 B. Abt.1845 NC 1870 census, North Cove, McDowell, NC David J. Wilson 60 B. Abt. 1809 Mary Wilson 22 Jane Wilson 18 Mary Wilson 14 1880 census North Cove, McDowell, NC David Wilson 70 B. Abt. 1810 Mary 31- Daughter Sallie 10 GDau. John 7 GSon ? 3 GSon My GGGrandfather was Jasper Alexander Wilson 1844-1921 on his death certificate his place of birth was McDowell, NC and his father was David Wilson. On the 1870 census Jasper is working on a farm as a laborer for a Johnathan Buchanon in Mitchell, NC, then in 1880 he is married to Caroline Jarrett Garland in Mitchell, NC with 3 Wilson children & 1 step daughter. They move to Cades Cove, Blount, TN in the early 1880's, where the family remained until 1936 when Cades Cove became part of the Smokey Mt. National Park. I'm looking for anyone who may tie into this Wilson line. Jaspers death certificate listed his fathers place of birth as NC. It appears this Wilson line was in NC for awhile. I also found a mary E. Wilson Married James M. Neal on 8/15/1854 Wilson, D J M. Barnes, Lurania Oct. 12, 1864 Wilson, D JJ M. Miles, Nancy Jun 22, 1843 Trying to find out if these marriages are for the above listed individuals on the census records. roby@erols.com Notify Administrator about this message?
