Looking to find Ferrell families in Burke County, between 1790 and 1840. In the 1840 census for Burke County, north of Catawba and east of North Fork, pg. 321 is a Rebecca Ferril with 1 male 5-9, 1 female 5-9, a female 10-14 and 1 female 20-29. In the 1850 census for Caldwell County, (of which it was formed 1841 from Burke) Rebecca is found as being 45 years, daughter Abigail being 13 and daughter Ann being 21. Comparing these two census the ages of these women are off but that is usual when comparing census records. This shows that Rebecca was either a widow woman with children by the 1840 census or a single woman with three children, possible more. If she was a widow, who had been her husband. If anyone researching Ferrell families in Burke/Caldwell Counties has any information to add please contact.
