John J. Navy and his wife Martha are seen in the 1860 census of "Morganton P.O." They were household 488. John was 26 years of age and Martha was 22 years of age. Their children were Elias Navy 3, Winny Navy 1 and also living with them was his mother Martha Navy 71 years of age. John Jackson Navey was born in South Carolina the son of John Cornish and Martha (Rayfield) Navey. I am interested in finding the maiden name of Martha Navey, the wife of John Jackson Navey. Some in the family say she was a Mace. They were living next door to John and Sarah Mace who were 42 years of age. Could John and Sarah have been Martha's parents or maybe she was a sister to John? John Jackson Navey died in the Civil War and Martha married 2nd James H. Justice in Carter County, Tennessee. She later moved to Randolph County, Arkansas were she died about 1893 and is buried in the Siloam Cemetery near Middlebrook, Arkansas. Her daughter Susan/Winny Navey married David Hambrick in Carter County, Tennesse and also lived and died in Randolph County, Arkansas and is buried in the Johnston Cemetery near Reyno, Arkansas.
