Seeking information on the Lawrence/Lorance/Lowrance family who lived in Burke Co., NC from 1767. Peter Lawrence left a will in 1767, concerning two plantations, one in what was then Orange County and one in what was then Rowan County. The will was witnessed by John Neve and Thomas Beck/Peck. The executor was his wife Mary Lawrence and Andrew Killian.
His children included: Peter Lawrence, Jr., William Lawrence, Elizabeth Lawrence (m. Thomas Allen), Mary Lawrence, Kitrite (?) Lawrence, Eve Lawrence (m. John Nave/Neff), Christian Lawrence.
In 1788, William Lawrence of Burke Co., NC sold half of his late father's Orange County plantation to Adam Lawrence. This plantation was now in Guilford County. William Lawrence continued to appear on tax and other records in Burke County.
