There is a reference to a Joseph Watts of Burke County, North Carolina at: http://www.dillardfamilyassociation.com/dannuals/da2000/da00all.htm

Scroll down to the entry on Pleasant Watts. Seems to indicate that Joseph was the son of Cherokee chief John Watts, but it's confusing because the names don't seem to match up with your list.
