John Reed of Muddy Creek About 1778
Posted by: John J. Evans Date: May 18, 2001 at 11:04:28
  of 1449

I am researching a John Reed family who left Burke County about 1805 and settled in Warren Co. TN. I found land record entries for John Reed (1778) on Muddy Creek, James Reed (1778) on Middle Little Creek, Hugh Reed Lower Little Creek, and a William Reed on the Middle Little Creek in 1779. Could all these Reed's be of the same family. John Reed owned and operated a ferry and cotton mill in Warren County and was a Presbyterian minister. John also married into the Isaac Martin family who moved to Warren County, TN in about the yeat 1798.
