Dottie. As you probably know by now that Leila Huffman was dau of Balthazor (Azor) Huffman and Essie (Sarah Adeline) Brittain. His ancestors are well documented and discussed in the recently published book by Frances Wellman Hoffman entitled "The Hoffmans of North Carolina Revisited 1749 - 1998". And there is another book that might be of interest to you called "The Lowman Story" compiled in 1991 by three Lowman sisters (Margaret Lowman Smith, Mildred Lowman Speagle, and Ruby Lowman Young) which discusses their research into their Lowman ancestors and descendants. In addition, I have been researching the Lowmans for a number of years and may be able to shed some new light questions that you might have.

Lewis and Leila and their descendants have not been as well documented as those of Lewis and Elizabeth (Abee). I would be most interested in learning of any information on your family.
