States: North Carolina: Burke
I having going over my family history and the wanting to find out more about my ancestor, John Deal. He had land here as early as 1780m but I believe he lived in this area during the Revolutionary War. He is mentioned as a Torie and A substitute in the war being called a rogue, a delinquent, and a robber. Such nice words about my ancestor.
Anyway, John had a son Abraham Deal wife Francis Coffey. This is my ancestor. I am trying to find out the parents of John. I know there was a George Deal in the area as well who had a son John, but I have found this John to be to young to be my John.
So, I wonder if George and John were brothers? If anyone has any documents on Burke County Deals in the early 1800 and 1700's involving the Dea/Dale surname please let me know.
