Here is what I have:

Rev. John Gibbs 1755-1847(Burke County, NC) married Rebecca Connelly (Conley). To their union were born 11 children:
-William m. Elizabeth Connelly (Conley)
-Hugh m. Sarah (?)
-John m. Catherine Sherrill
-James m. Mary Hunter, then Rebecca Mashburn
-Joshua m. Rebecca Connelly (Conley)
-Bryant m. Hannah Finley
-David m. Mary Beal
-Elizabeth m. James Penland (Possibly Alexander Penland)
-Archibald m. Sophia Finley
-Thomas m. Priscilla Finley, then Eliza Briggs
-Wesley m. Malinda Finley

So far I have not discovered the Cannon surname in my research. I have not proven all the marriages listed above. Info. from different sources that I have accumulated over a period of time.
