Hi Lorene,

No, my James Day was in the Old Edgefield District, SC which later became part of Lexington County, SC. He was born abt 1824 and died around 1890 (his wife, Mary, was pregnant with my grandmother when he died). I have no way to connect him to the other Day families. Maybe someday someone will find a Day family in NC that left an orphan. Right now I don't know if his birth name was Day or he was adopted by the Day family. However, if he was an orphan after he was a Day it seems that both his birth parents AND his adoptive family would have had to have died. He ran away to see his aunt which leads me to believe he was associated with the Day families of SC.
Sorry I couldn't help.
