Cauble, DeBord Gashes Creek Cemetery
Posted by: HURSHEL DEBORD (ID *****0392) Date: January 11, 2005 at 09:30:12
  of 1447

I am compiling info on the Debord surname, various spellings, and not just my own line.

The obit for Fred Amderson Cauble (1913-2004)says he was a native of Buncombe and that his parents were William Cauble and Martha DeBord and he was buried in the Gashes Creek Cemetery.

I believe Martha J. DeBord b 1869 was daughter of Thomas A. Debord (1847-1914) and Nancy Jane Brookshire (1836-1888) who are also buried in the Gashes Creek Baptist Church Cemetery (not real sure this is the same cemetery)

Wm H. Cauble b abt 1870 may be the son of the Adam Cauble age 34 that shows in the 1880 Buncombe census, wife Mary A. age 35 and sons James age 14, Wm age 10 and Pink age 8 (Pink may be short for Pinkney)

Anybody have any further info on family of William H. Cauble and Martha J. DeBord from Buncombe?
