John Wesley Palmer married to Ellender Dockery

searching for information on family/ancestors of JOHN WESLEY PALMER (born Abt 1800 in VA; died 1845 in Buncombe Co., NC).

JOHN WESLEY PALMER and ELLENDER "NELLIE" DOCKERY married Abt 1825 in Buncombe Co., NC and, we think, lived near other relatives in the Big Sandy Mush area near Asheville, NC. Following the death of John Wesley Palmer, his widow, Ellender Dockery Palmer moved with her seven young children to Cherokee County (Hanging Dog area), NC.

Can anyone help us with information about this "brick-wall" ancestor?
1. What was the reason for the death of John Wesley Palmer?
2. Is John Wesley Palmer related to any of the other Palmers in the Big Sandy Mush area?
3. Who are his parents/ancestors (is he one of the sons or grandsons of George Palmer, who fought in the Revolutionary War?
4. Is there a public record of the marriage of John Wesley Palmer to Ellender Dockery?
5. Prior to their marriage, what was the connection between John Wesley Palmer and the Dockery family (church? neighbor? friends?)?

Thank you so much.
Jean Darnall
